Obituary

Best of husbands, Best of men, Best of fathers

Ray, 91, of Southfield passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 23,2021.

Ray was born at home in Dearborn, MI to Paul and Frances Duk.  He attended local schools and graduated from Fordson High School in 1948.  Ray went on to Wayne State, graduating with a degree in Music Education.  Ray's true passion was his innate musical talent - His love of music reached far and wide as a woodwind aficionado in the pit of the Fisher and Fox Theaters, on Motown records, playing for big stars such as Julie Andrews, Cher and Frank Sinatra, as well as a music teacher in the DPS. Ray continued his musical career throughout his retirement, playing in the Worlds Oldest Saxophone Quintet, of which he was the youngest!

He was also very proud of his Hole in One, his poker face and his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years Connie.  He is the loving father of Stephen Duke (Delaine), Diane Duk Romolino (Tom), Shelly Duk (Dave Luke), Brian Duke (Tonia); cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren, Adam, Hannah, Allison (Tim), Nicholas, Kayla, Austin, Abigail and Ella; and much cherished great grandfather of Lily.
