Miriam Gleniss Smith was born to Fleming and Genevieve McCall on October 29, 1932 in Detroit, MI. She received her education through the Detroit Public School system where she met, and later married, Clyde Smith, Sr.

She was a member of the Israel of God's Church, W.H.A. from a child to the day of her passing. Miriam and Clyde moved to Sycamore, IL, where they made their home with their three children: Clyde Jr., Sharman, and William.

On July 6, 2022, Miriam transitioned from this life. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Smith, Sr., and eldest son, Clyde Smith, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Sharman, and her son, William; her sister, Lois Jackson; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
