Obituary

Mrs. Maurene Robinson, daughter of the late Love and Gertrude Parker, was born August 10, 1922, in Greenville, Mississippi. She attended the Greenville Public Schools, and after moving to Detroit, she attended Wayne State University.

She met and later married Roy Robinson.  She moved to Detroit in the early 1960's.  She was employed by Bedford Village Hospital. She was a Nurse Assistant and a Union Representative., retiring in 1992, with twenty-seven years of service.

Mrs. Robinson was a member of Second Grace United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed arts and crafts, working with older adults, and cooking.

On Monday, January 30, 2017, Mrs. Robinson, made her transition.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Robinson, daughter, Patricia A. Robinson, brothers, James Parker and Tom Hicks, Jr.  She leaves with cherished memories, a devoted sister, Ernestine Hicks, Redford, Michigan, Rosa Kingdom, Greenville, Mississippi, grandchildren, Aitta McCarthy and Kevin McArthur, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, special friends, Renee Grant and Willa Miller, a host of other relatives and friends.
