Lindsey "Prosper" Adams was born on August 29, 1981 to Audrey L. Adams and Eddie Jenkins
in Detroit, MI. She was raised by her Mother along with her four siblings, Kimberly Barksdale,
Mia Grubbs, (Lindsey), Ryan Barrett, and McKayla Reynolds. At Age 10, Lindsey discovered
that she could express herself through music. She began to write songs as an outlet for the
things she was facing in her life and started
a group "Cookies and Cream". Even though music was her passion, she still searched for
more. The voids in her life caused her to become violent, rebellious and in and out of various
girls homes, where she spent most of her teen aged years. Lindsey labeled herself as
misunderstood and felt that no-one cared about her.
In 2004, at the age of 23, Lindsey gave birth to a baby girl which she named Janier Shaunice
Adams. Janier's Father, Cornelius passed away January 11, 2022 of COVID 19. Being a single
mother, Lindsey wanted to give her daughter the best life she could and strived to accomplish
that her daughters whole life.
In 2006, Lindsey joined a male rap group. Lindsey loved performing and traveling performing
with her group, but it caused her ego and confidence she had lacked in previous years to go to
another level.
As she rapped about money, cars, and clothes, it appeared as though life was good for this
once troubled teen. In 2007, Lindsey was introduced to a lifestyle of Homosexuality, where she
began dressing in masculine attire and dating numerous women.
At the age of 27, Lindsey began to feel and tell people that GOD had something different for
her. At the time, she didn't understand why she felt this way. Having no relationship with God in
the past, it was strange that she began to feel this way. Three years later things began to
change. The way she thought, talked, along with the type of music began to change. Lindsey
wrote a song called "My Life" which was a cry to GOD letting HIM know that she was ready for
change. A year later, Lindsey Joined Word in Action Christian Center under the leadership of
Apostle Clarence Langston and Pastor Robyn Langston and was baptized later that year.
Lindsey changed her performance name to Prosper, and had planned to legally change her
name to Prosper Agape, and no longer rapped about things of the world, only ministry. Prosper
shared her testimony with everyone she encountered to speak life and to plant seeds of hope.
Her only purpose in life had become pleasing GOD. Having a love for music and birthing songs
was something she was passionate about. She used her gift for the purpose of building the
Kingdom of GOD.
