Lillian Johnson Hopson
February 2, 1930 – October 31, 2016

Lillian Johnson Hopson, the eldest of two daughters, was born in Jenkins, Kentucky on February 2, 1930 to the late Charles Johnson and Patsie Davis. She graduated from Jenkins High School and shortly thereafter met the love of her life Eddie W. Hopson. They were united in holy matrimony on June 30, 1947 in Wheeling, West Virginia. To this union one son was born, Eddie Hopson, Jr.

Lillian moved to Detroit, Michigan with her husband and son in the early 1950's and began working as a family domestic. She later worked at Sak's Fifth Avenue department store and eventually retired working for the state of Michigan.

Lillian found the truth in the 1960's and was a pioneer for over thirty years serving in congregations in Detroit, St. Clairsville, Ohio, Thomasville, Georgia, Columbus, Ohio and Southfield, Michigan.

Lillian touched many hearts along her journey making many friends, sisters and brothers. She loved to travel, eat, play cards and dominoes. One of her specialties was a pineapple upside down cake (DELICIOUS!).

Lillian passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 from complications of Alzheimer's Dementia Disease after a lengthy stay at the St. Joseph's Healthcare Center in Hamtramck, Michigan.

Lillian leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved son Eddie Hopson, Jr., her grandson, Brian Edward Hopson(Sonya), two great-grandchildren, Hailey Simone and Bryson Edward, one niece, Sophie Blanchard of Columbus, Ohio, one nephew, Frederick Lankford of Bellaire, Ohio and many other spiritual friends, sisters and brothers.
