Benjamin Blessman Sr was born on a Saturday, July 3, 1937 to Eleazer and Felicita Blessman. Benjamin was the seventh of eight children, who all preceded him in death. He was the youngest brother but often took on the role as little BIG brother, due to his protective nature.

Benjamin was educated in the Detroit Public School system and developed many talents. He was great with his hands and pursued a career in carpentry. He was also a musician and played the French horn. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing chess, solitaire, watching sports, as well as westerns. Benjamin met his then future wife (Marshalyn Bond) through his nephew "Sweet Lou' and from that union Benjamin Blessman Jr (whom he called Max), LeShaun Blessman (whom he called Princess), and Jazsmin Blessman (whom he called Precious) was born. He enjoyed going to the casino, taking his family to sporting events as well as restaurants. Family was everything to him!

Benjamin made his transition on July 18, 2025 and leaves to cherish his memories; ex wife Marshalyn Blessman, son Benjamin Blessman Jr, daughter LeShaun (Blessman) Smith, son-in law Cairo Smith Sr., daughter Jazsmin Blessman, grandchildren: Chaston DeShaun Singletary, Mason Amir Singletary, Lincoln Khalif McDonald, Naomi Luna Boozer, Egypt Bella-Amore Smith, Cairo Woody-Elias Smith Jr. (CJ), and a host of nieces, and nephews.

Although the flesh is gone, his spirit shall live on...
